  1. VAL ODUENYI Says:

In fact, this well-organized and well illustrated 16th edition of “Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine” provides authoritative information on medicine and surgery. Its contents show a true reflection of experience and knowledge of the number of individual authors and / or suppliers.
This edition not only guarantees one of the most comprehensive coverage of all aspects of health and medicine, but offers many case studies, ideas, questions of self evaluation (and answers), and stock images useful for diagnosis. It has also led numerous algorithms for color: the form of additional analysis, graphs and tables. received in several sections and subsections of important updates : in particular those dealing with infectious diseases, intensive care, cardiology, oncology and orthopedics.
also authorized the purchase of this book, the owner of free online access to the latest updates and equipment which was available only after the book was printed. to keep this free online access to until a new edition of the book published is valid. They should be around 2009: four years from the time of the review is. The online access code is embedded on a piece of paper inside the book. Do not move!
There are many things for this 2607-page book, I finished writing several pages in May to try to highlight all. Yet, assured that his breadth of clinical information is simply insatiable. But despite this, I do not really think that someone (especially students), who has already purchased 15 edition should go back on it. The information contained in the 15th edition is still very useful and sufficient power . In fact, everyone should consider and evaluate, is that “old” 15 Edition supports some 22 pages longer than this “new” 16 Edition. And although it was a few years moreover, his forces education games at low prices from this. So, sticking with the 15-ED until the next issue comes out is what I propose. The same recommendation applies to all person who owns or uses either Kelley or Cecil Textbook of Medicine, not more than five years. But for all first-time buyers who are considering this, I suggest you make the purchase. It’s an investment worth its weight in gold!

Harrison is a detail, the solid and comprehensive text is ideal for medical students. There has moved heaven and earth. The only book is quite large and therefore, I recommend buying the version with two bands.

Overall, an excellent book, but the section on renal physiology is not like previous editions in detail. I felt the book on the new class of diuretics skimed, otherwise a good book. . . as usual.

So everybody knows that Harrison is the bible for internists and internal medicine residents. As a medical student third years, I have the book for research, if I give a presentation, or wanted to know more about my patients have learned.

In PGY-1 is now in psychiatry, I found this book more useful than ever, but in another sense. Being on the psych rotations now I often find that the psychosis of recent onset may be the result of a general medical condition. Although the interface between psychiatry and medicine has improved over the years, my colleagues in medicine is black and white for this type of representation (that crazy person; Psych should treat).
< , br /> So I want to stay, if they are not only diplomatic talks with the ER and family medicine residents and specialists, but want to look competent individual and my thought process more of their specialty. Here Harrison help. I read on laboratory conditions and treatment of my difference, so when I called, I seem well informed and have some idea of how they can help me. The statement that you have other leaving Harrison to know that you have discussed the patient and not only want to get rid of another department suggests reading.

For more reviews, how this version with color therapy and boxes, I totally agree. It is beautiful, as much text as you read.

I recommend this book for each of the following:

    1. Third in the second year students on a />
3 All other medicine for the reasons mentioned above. Whatever our specialty, we are all doctors and must have an excellent medical reference. Harrison has been and always will be the gold standard!

  5. M. Segovia Says:

Of course there are other books that may be useful too, but Harrison has been the gold standard forever. Beware of people who tell you more “interesting” material, using Harrison can be annoying for those who either are not really interested in internal medicine, or those who have just tried the best practitioners, they can be given.
If you’re interested in learning is one of the books you need.
