   One critic wrote that this book is not geared towards practitioners, I do not agree with how I was able to immediately use a lot of information in my clinic.

   I graduated from Pacific College of Oriental medicine in 2002 and was given the chance, a very busy practice of Chinese medicine since the beginning of 2003 work. I also participate in the NIH-funded research on Chinese medicine through UMDNJ (University of Medicine and Dentistry, NJ). Approximately 90% of my patients medical throw-away “to come Chinese medicine as a last resort after conventional medicine has failed. A significant percentage of these patients were suffering from a degenerative disease of the eye.

   After reading Andy’s book on eye and vision problems, I think this book should be required text in schools of modern acupuncture. When I was in school, there were no books devoted to the exclusive practice of ophthalmology in modern Chinese clinics. What little material I read on Chinese ophthalmology was isolated theory and models of discrimination. . . and limited assistance in the real world of practice. If I read this book four years ago when I started my practice, I would have had greater success rate with patients ophthalmology.

   The information contained in this book reveals why Andy other Acupuncturists are considered the leading authority on traditional Chinese ophthalmology. This book is clearly a labor of love him, many of the “secrets” he has learned to specialize in diseases of the eye shows 10 years. Each practitioner who specializes in eye disease research should read this book. It is a detailed explanation of the Chinese theory of meridians and how each elementary pair refers to the treatment of certain eye disorders, and even after years of working as a professional practitioner, I found new information in this section. But what makes this book different from traditional textbooks conversational style of teaching behavior is that the author, and the vast amount of “real world” information presented, that only a person with much success (as has already experienced a failure) in its field.

   For example, the book integrates Eastern and Western medical theories from different parts of the eye in the ranking of the five elements (eg metal = sclera, macula = water) and how the precise diagnosis of the Western eye diseases such as macular degeneration related to age can be treated with traditional and Zhang Fu-Meridian theory. The classification of various diseases in opthamological Five Elements theory is used to explain how the most common Chinese herbal mixtures are used to treat various diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and myopia. In addition, there is information on the use of self-care practices for eyes, a single declaration of essential oil treatment with Chinese theories, micro-current stimulation, and an explanation of how modern visual acuity tests may be incorporated into the practice of Chinese medicine. Most of the above information I have not found in other texts.

   As an acupuncturist, I found this book a treasure trove of information to the clinic for my practice. But if you suffer from degenerative vision loss and seek alternative treatments, I think this book would be a great start to learn more about natural ways to heal the eyes. I have treated many patients with degenerative diseases of the eye, and I know how horrible the experience can be. . . But there is hope if you stay persistent in your search and keep an open mind. Knowledge and understanding always overcome fear, and this book will be a new level of understanding, if you suffer from vision loss. While there may be some parts of the book, which might be difficult to be understandable to the layman. No information has been diluted and the author assumes that you have a keen interest in the subject. You need the theory section in the opening chapters read more than once to understand detailed information in the second half of the book, but it is expected that traditional Chinese medicine is a vast subject that takes many years grasp.

   Conclusion: Highly recommended for clinicians and patients. Five Stars!

   This book is in some way that patients and therapists in a position much like to write about it. The layout is clear and it is very easy to read. />
   
   

   Perhaps the most important aspect of the holistic approach of the book is presented, to work on eye diseases. There is information on lifestyle habits, eye exercises, acupressure, qigong, herbs, acupuncture, essential oils, magnets and moxibustion. All this information can be used by practitioners to improve their ability to treat eye problems. More importantly, they are somehow the patient can go home and do eye exercises, Qigong, acupressure, or any other proceedings made home treatment in this book, written by their eye care more.

   Overall an excellent book.

   This book has helped bridge the gap of this specialty. Andy gave descriptions of conditions that I’ve never heard of before, it makes me appreciate even more, instead of hearing all the same ‘ole boring descriptions / definitions, many other uses or copying from other books.
   ;
   The chapters are well organized and well wishes for the beginner to understand the functions of the organs in the context of Chinese medicine and treat diseases eye, an appropriate practitioner.
   
   

   A relationship of a diagnosis of West China Medical Terms of the book is useful and important to practitioners and the authors own clinical experience, he shares in this book.

   I think all those interested in the health point of view, if you’re a doctor or profane greatly benefit from this book.

   I have an old friend Andy, who taught me how to play poker year. He was seized recently with macular degeneration related to age. When he reaches his retirement and be able to play lots of poker – it did not.

   My “new friend” Andy – the guy who wrote this book was – I can have hope for my old friend. He said in an e-mail:

   “FYI, nobody is going too far in my experience. I have a few success stories of crazy people I do not think results would not have been achieved. So there will always be an impetus, there is still hope. ..

   acupuncture and Chinese herbs can often help when nothing else will. The reason is that drugs rarely cure anything. Most drugs have one of two things. They kill something (in the case of antibiotics or chemotherapeutic agents). Or they react with cell receptors (by blocking, interference or receptor activation). cell receptors respond to biomolecules such as hormones, neurotransmitters, etc.

   The problem is not a cure – they simply block symptoms. Acupuncture and Chinese medicine works by letting the healing mechanisms of the physical body. Only the body can heal itself – nothing else. Even the greatest surgeon can not heal, the smallest cut.

   Andy just had an article on related macular degeneration acupuncture Today printed. You can search on their website. The article said he had a success rate of 80%. If you are interested in the treatment of macular degeneration related to age, it is an excellent article. He will tell you if the book for you.

   Just follow a simple and useful guide for eye care for all eye problems. Many specific exercises and herbal mixtures. Very inspiring, useful and rewarding. Highly recommended for any person to maintain or improve the health of eyes.
