I read BRS Pathology many times, but I decided to try a pathology RR after hearing all the praise. I went through half of this measure and, frankly, I do not. I find it very difficult to read, especially because of its poor structure. It has been improved over the first edition, but it seems that many details, without flow. While there are many details that you do not appear in other books and improve the integration of physiology. But I think there is too much detail and redundancy, making it a less efficient source. After reading each chapter, I find it difficult to keep many details.

My advice, stick with the book that you feel more at ease and could easily control. Many students have done very well with BRS.

But the important thing is not changing books! If your first source does not change to a different thought that you have more knowledge. Most of the time, it does confuse me more like this book. Good luck.

If the old edition, an update box. There are tons of color images, and clinical correlations. I love how Goljan integrates concepts. For example, it is something you learned in Biochem and give you a brief reminder of the notion (sometimes with a small diagram to appeal), or mentions a drug or a vitamin and it is to remind you mechanisms. It even has a small band of anatomy in every once in awhile. This makes things a little longer than the corresponding chapter SAB, but I feel that I remember much better. I also began to feel that things fit together all the different subjects now. There are also high yield notes in the margins. You can go very quickly, before an exam. You’re guaranteed a few questions to get there as notes on the right. I am now in this class, but when I write for advice, I know that the margin notes to high performance, clinical correlation boxes, and maps to assist with a brief review. I bought the last issue and this great cause of the update. It was well worth the money.

Firstly I must honestly say I write books such as Robbins family – “Pocket Companion to Robbins & Cotran PBD” and “Robbins & Cotran Review of Pathology” – more of Pathology “BRS” or “Quick Review: Pathology” on the other hand, when is this combo too much for you, then you should make your choice between BRS and RR, I think these two books are necessary if you prepare properly for the first step, but we want it again, it would not be an option for many people – they are forced to either BRS or RR and have read a great question – which is better? My answer is – pick-RR – you do will not be disappointed.
OK, what do you want in BRS?
Like the glaring omissions of many high-yield topics and you will not be many Questions about your USMLE Step 1 answer? or perhaps you think that BRS is no explanation of the mechanisms of pathophysiology – the meat and bones of the USMLE Step 1 – and you are forced to understand without being CRAM < br /> RR is much more comprehensive and coherent ellegantly describes the pathogenesis leave no stone unturned, this book contains excellent subjects for self-integrated into other disciplines – for example, very concise and efficient chapter acid-base.
like you who are in the SAB is boring long descriptions of the gross and microscopic pathology, no image of what the places mentioned can
In RR you many Full slides and drawings to find most of Robbins – remember that your Step 1, you will find a lot to go pathology MCQs with the accompanying images.
Do You MCQ are easy to BRS and not on the actual exam?
RR contains many USMLE MCQ-ish and more – online.
BRS is much easier – they are usually read what you already know, yes, you would not be hard – most importantly, why is it easier to read than BRS RR – but not tempted by comfortable reading – RR your performance on the USMLE Step 1 is much better than doing the SAB.

. . . do not try to write it for your condition used only when the assignment is to check yourself for a month Total board, and you do not have further been the most important information to highlight. It is far too heavy to move. I was nine half-days (4-5 hours daily) on the pathology and left to feel as if I had not saved because of the density structure. I think it is excellent and very well organized, but it is too much if this is your first full pass through them. I finally give up and go to BRS path, because it was so much shorter. But I knew after reading back through BRS RR see photos and read the marginalia, which I found very useful. I think for many people this will be a great resource because it is complete, you almost do not need to read more about Physio! But for students who may for a limited time to prepare and / or have not read the book during the year, too.

    5. M. Eichenbaum Says:

This book is filled with high-yield facts and images. Unfortunately, it is also equipped with a material somewhat less efficient, which makes it very difficult to read. I found it difficult to wade through it and lose a lot of time to study abroad. Eventually I got my study routine flight for this reason. I have the audio conference information was brief and concise. If you have time, this book during your work is to use a good investment. It will pay off big time when you get to write on board and have a background sound. The more you are familiar with the book and can it handy as a quick reference points of confusion
